WHAT IS AERIAL YOGA?
Aerial yoga is a unique technique with a combination of exercises to decompress the spine & align your body from head to toe. Aerial yoga is a type of yoga which uses a hammock or yoga swing to allow students to perform postures that they may not ordinarily be able to attempt on the yoga mat.
In Aerial yoga, the hammock is kept close to the ground, generally less than a meter from the floor. The hammock hold up to 500kgs, It becomes a swing which can support the hips in both forward and back bends. For many people, yoga postures that are difficult on the ground can be performed more easily and with less strain on the body in mid-air.
Is is suggested that in addition to the emotional, physical and spiritual benefits of all yoga practice, Aerial yoga has particular benefits for strengthening and stretching the whole body, decompressing the spine, improving circulation, boosting digestion and lifting one’s mood. In particular, Aerial yoga strengthens the core as well as the arms and legs, to support the body in mid-air. Aerial yoga can be performed by people with all levels of fitness

Aerial Yoga Fundamentals
(45 MIN) This class must be taken first before any other aerial yoga class. This class can be taken as many times as you like as it the basic fundamentals to the aerial hammock.
You will learn how to rig up the hammock & customize the hammock to your body, we will then learn the basic grips, wraps & poses. This will give you a clear indication what level your at with aerial yoga.
We will learn some simple sequences & poses so you can effectively and safely use hammocks with confidence.
Aerial Yoga 1
(60 MIN) This class is for those who feel confident and want to take aerial yoga to the next level. This class sequence is a more advanced workout. Using techniques and inversions it is a great all over body workout while strengthening core & decompression of the spine. In this class we realign our spine & learn new advanced skills.
Aerial Yoga Flow
(30 MIN) Ahhh do you want to just relax in the hammock, we have found mediating in the hammock is an amazing relaxing experience. If you want to take away the weight of the world of yourself this class is a mediation 30 mins. Climb in the hammock and just relax!
Aerial Yoga Light
(45 MIN) This class sequence is designed for a light low impact and low cardiovascular workout. There are no inversions in this class (going upside down). We lightly work our way through the class with strengthening techniques simplified for all levels. While using the hammock we stay on the ground in this class and do yoga poses that we usually couldn’t perform with the help of the hammock. This is a great way to slowly introduce yourself to aerial Yoga and its techniques.
